The article examines the impact of information and communication technologies (ICT) on the teaching of the Russian language in universities. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the impact of multimedia and Internet resources on improving the quality of education and increasing student motivation. The impact of ICT on the development of key language skills such as listening comprehension, writing, speaking and reading is discussed. The article also presents the results of a study based on surveys of students and teachers, as well as an analysis of educational centers that actively use ICT in teaching. The study showed that ICT significantly increases the effectiveness of learning, enhances student engagement and develops their ability to learn independently.

The article summarizes the results of the study of literary translation, assessing the quality of national specifics rendering and the individual style of the writer. The material for the study is the translation of the novel "Almazny Pojas" (Diamond Belt) by Pirimkul Kadyrov from Uzbek into Russian by Yu. Suvortsev, as well as the interlinear translation performed by the author himself. The explanatory potential of the hermeneutic approach to analyzing the source and translated texts is demonstrated. The article characterizes cases of successful translation solutions in recreating the national worldview reflected in the source text, which are revealed in the reproduction of wordplay, proverbs, etc.

FUSION FACILITY AND GUESTS’ PATRONAGE OF LUXURY HOTELS IN THE NIGER DELTA, NIGERIA

The aim of this research, therefore, was to evaluate the effect of fusion facility activities on guests’ patronage of luxury hotels in Rivers State, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study; the population of which comprised 246 guests drawn from 10 luxury hotels during the 2023 Christmas festive season in Port Harcourt. Primary data were collected from a well-structured questionnaire, administered on the guests and complimented by secondary data from academic journal papers. Statistical tools for data analyses include; simple percentage, mean scores and standard deviation as well as Multiple Regression Analysis. The findings of the descriptive analysis revealed effective fusion facility service delivery and high guests’ patronage during the period of our investigation. Multiple regression analysis showed that all the 4 indicators of fusion facility attributes (poolside entertainment, rental services, auxiliary services and conferencing) positively and significantly in varied degree, influenced guests’ patronage of luxury hotels in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Based on the finding, it was concluded that fusion facility dimensions had significant effect on guests’ patronage of luxury hotels in Port Harcourt. In the light of the findings and conclusions of the study, it was recommended that the current service standard should be maintained or improved upon in line with the changing customer preferences and that new guests should be informed of all the services available in the fusion facility.

AIRLINES BRAND ATTRIBUTES AND PASSENGERS’ LOYALTY IN RIVERS STATE NIGERIA

Despite the marketing efforts of airlines to differentiate and position their organizations for successful operations in the competitive aviation industry, however, mantaining passengers’ loyalty appears to be a growing concern and challenge to managers in the sector in Nigeria. This study therefore assessed the effect of airlines brand attributes on passengers’ loyalty at Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State.This study adopted the cross-sectional survey research design whereby primary data were obtained from 246 passengers of functional airlines at Port Harcourt International Airport through the questionnaire method. The data were analysed using simple percentage, mean score, standard deviation and multiple regression aided by statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). The findings revealed that only safety and baggage handling had a positive and significant effect on passengers’ loyalty to airlines at Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State. However, punctuality/reliability of flights did not have a significant effect on passenger loyalty. Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that airline brand attributes had a varying level of effect on passengers’ loyalty. The study recommended minimization of flight delays and unnecessary flight cancellations as they do not induce passengers’ loyalty.

A significant challenge in translation arises when concepts or objects unique to one culture lack direct equivalents in another language. This linguistic gap occurs because certain words are deeply embedded in the cultural context of a language, making them untranslatable or requiring borrowing from other languages to convey their meaning. Furthermore, the same concept may be expressed differently in various languages, either excessively or insufficiently, complicating the translation process. As a result, understanding language goes beyond memorizing vocabulary—it requires grasping the natural and stable combinations of words and phrases specific to each language.
